Swedish Medical Center is looking for a After Hours Chaplain \(Per Diem, Nights\)to work for Spiritual Care at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA\.
The After Hours Chaplain is responsible for providing spiritual and emotional care to patients, families and staff of Swedish Health Services, and acting as liaison between patients/families and community clergy\.
In this position you will:
Provide pastoral counseling and emotional support to patients, families and staff members as requested\.
Conduct spiritual assessments, taking appropriate action and/or follow\-up, including but not limited to the provision of direct spiritual counsel, prayer and sacraments\.
Participate in on\-call responsibilities, including being able to respond and be present within ½ hour of being called, and appropriately triaging and referring to specialized ministry\.
Assist patients/families with funeral arrangements and provide funeral services for patients, as appropriate\.
Required qualifications for this position include:
One year of ministry experience in a medical setting\.
Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Windows based applications\.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Completion of 1 unit of CPE, M\. Div, or equivalent degree\.
Eligibility for Certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains, National Association of Catholic Chaplains or National Association of Jewish Chaplains\.
Ordination or commissioning for ministry\.
Endorsement by ecclesial body for chaplaincy or ministry\.
