The Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) and its flagship Westchester Medical Center, the pre-eminent provider of integrated healthcare in New York’s Hudson Valley, are recruiting for a Pediatric Neurosurgeon to expand its academic program just north of New York City.
Applicants must be board-certified or eligible in neurosurgery, have completed a pediatric neurosurgery fellowship and be eligible for a New York State medical license. WMCHealth physicians have access to the latest technologies and use the most advanced techniques to provide patients with the best care possible.
The neurosurgeon primarily will serve Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, a member of WMCHealth and the sole children’s hospital in the region, which includes western Connecticut. Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital is home to the valley’s only pediatric intensive care unit; regional neonatal intensive care unit; pediatric trauma service; pediatric burn-care unit; transplant program; and cardiac-catheterization program.
The successful candidate will have a strong academic interest and work collaboratively with two pediatric neurosurgeons. Westchester Medical Center, a 600-bed hospital, serves as the primary teaching affiliate for New York Medical College. Academic appointment, as well as salary, are commensurate with experience and qualifications. Successful candidates are committed to patient care; resident, fellow and medical-student education; scholarly activity advancing clinical medicine; and basic and/or clinical research. Participation in teaching activities, as well as scholarly contributions and collaborative research, are expected.
