Contra Costa County Health Services Department is offering an excellent career opportunity for individuals interested in a Mental Health Program Chief position. The current vacancy is in the Adult Mental Health Program within the Health Services Department located in Martinez, California.
Under general direction, plans, organizes and directs the provision of mental health services for clients who are seriously and persistently mentally ill, seriously emotionally disturbed, or experiencing a psychiatric emergency; coordinates services with hospitals and other agencies providing services to the mentally ill population; supervises subordinate staff; and does related work as required.
Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major in psychology, social work, counseling or a closely related field; 4 years of experience providing mental health services to the seriously and persistently mentally ill, 2 years of which must have included administrative responsibility for mental health programs/services and the supervision of subordinate staff; possession of one of the following professional licenses: Clinical Social Work, Psychologist or Marriage & Family Therapist; and possession of a valid California Motor Vehicles Operator's License. Valid out-of-state Motor Vehicle Operator’s License will be accepted during the application process. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required Master’s degree.
