Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) is seeking a pediatric psychologist for immediate opening to join our hospital-based psychology team. Licensed psychologist with expertise in pediatric psychology coordinate and participate in interdisciplinary health care delivery, training, hospital administration responsibilities and clinical research.
The Psychology Department at TSRHC provides quality psychological intervention and consultation, in collaboration with the medical team, to improve patient care for children and adolescents with health-related conditions. Psychologists work side-by-side world renowned pediatric orthopedic surgeons; pediatric rheumatologists; developmental behavioral pediatricians; pediatric neurologists and medical team members to provide care for the whole child. Direct services are provided to TSRHC patients, their families, and caregivers on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
A completed APA accredited internship, and fellowship in Pediatric Psychology and/or Clinical Child Psychology is required, with skills in consultation, brief intervention, surgery preparation, pain management, and knowledge of developmental psychology. Licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Texas is required prior to beginning the position. Assistant professor faculty appointment in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center is considered as part of a Pediatric Psychologist position.
Pediatric Psychologist: Integrated Care in Pediatric Medical Sub-Specialty Home The pediatric psychologist in this role will work as an integrated team member in ambulatory care clinics with Developmental Behavioral Pediatricians and Pediatric Neurologists. Responsibilities will include: brief assessment of co-morbid mental health symptoms for diagnostic clarification; periodic assessment of current level of cognitive functioning; behavioral management; coping with medical conditions; school consultation and short-term, outpatient therapy. Experience working in an integrated pediatric setting preferred.
