Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
The Farley Center at Williamsburg Place is seeking an Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who is passionate in helping to guide patients on their journey to recovery and mental wellness. The NP will be responsible for performing certain medical and psychiatric functions, under the direction and supervision of the Medical Director. Some of these responsibilities include:
Perform Physical and Psychiatric Exams/Evaluation.
Order diagnostic studies (Laboratory, x-ray, EKG, etc.)
Work with team to develop treatment plan.
Diagnose patient conditions and their causes.
Prescribe and write appropriate medications; monitor their use and document results.
Patient progress documentation.
Provide immediate care in emergency/life threatening situations.
Be familiar with the rules on patient confidentiality and ensure patient confidentiality is strictly observed in all situations.
The Nurse Practitioner practices the goals and objectives of Farley Center at Williamsburg Place in providing quality service and care to patients, visitors, referral services. Maintains a responsive, cooperative and pleasant attitude with fellow employees. Conducts self in the work setting with the utmost respect and patience for the above groups and contributes to a productive work environment with communication as a key focus while adhering to the confidentiality standards of the facility.
Must be licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia's State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner or PMHNP.
*If in recovery, prefer (5) years post-recovery/sobriety from drug and alcohol addiction, minimum of (2) years.
