Chase Brexton Health Care (CBHC) is a non-profit federally qualified health center (FQHC) that includes five outpatient health center locations in the Baltimore, Maryland area. CBHC employs more than 400 staff, including 36 physicians and mid-level providers, 43 behavioral health providers and 10 dental providers, all of whom support CBHC’s commitment to providing high-quality care to the LGBT community, as well as to the general population. CBHC treats more than 120,000 patient visits annually through a comprehensive range of services, including medical and dental care, behavior health, specialty care, pharmacy services, case management and walk-in services.
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is the ultimate decision maker on clinical policy, and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, is engaged in defining the overall business strategy of the organization. This executive will work with and through the site medical directors and clinical division chiefs to provide the overall clinical vision and will be responsible for the clinical transformation of the organization, along with quality improvement, accreditation, and compliance activities of the organization. The CMO will be closely involved in population health initiatives and is responsible for managing all site medical directors.

The region has one of the nation’s most educated and productive workforce and a low unemployment rate. The area offers 10,000 acres of parkland, 175 miles of Chesapeake Bay shoreline, rolling horse country, and concerts by the world renowned Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Baltimore is near the Atlantic Ocean resorts, including Ocean City, Maryland; and the Appalachian Mountains for hiking, camping and skiing.

The ideal candidate will be a visible, communicative and strategic leader who has physician leadership experience within a non-profit or community health center setting. The candidate must be an MD or DO, with successful completion of an accredited residency program and current Board Certification. A minimum of five years of clinical practice experience is required, along with a license to practice medicine in Maryland. This leader will have the ability to work collaboratively with a dynamic leadership team and board of directors, and will be comfortable managing multi-site operations and union personnel. The candidate must be well-versed in regulatory requirements (The Joint Commission and HRSA). Additionally, working knowledge of electronic medical records is valued.
