Christiana Care Health System, headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware is actively recruiting for a full time BE/BC Med/Peds or Pediatric physician who is also interested in medical education as well as using their clinical skills as a Pediatric Hospitalist. This unique position combines working as a Pediatric Hospitalist (.5) and as a member of our integrated faculty/resident outpatient practice (.5) serving the residents of the city of Wilmington, Delaware.
The Pediatric Hospitalist group serves Christiana Hospital and Bayhealth’s Kent General Hospital located in Dover, Delaware. The pediatric hospitalists provide family-centered care to pediatric patients in the Pediatric Inpatient Unit, Mother-Baby Unit and the Emergency Department in both hospitals.
The pediatric faculty position is an opportunity to care for a diverse group of patients and to teach residents and students. In addition to building a personal practice, this physician will supervise med-peds, pediatric and family medicine residents learning pediatrics. The learning environment includes trainees in internal medicine, med-peds and emergency medicine-internal medicine Medical students, mostly from the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University also rotate in the practice regularly. The faculty practice is a NCQA recognized Patient Centered Medical Home which provides patient care through a multi-disciplinary team approach that includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nursing, clinical pharmacy, care management and social services support. In both roles, this physician will participate in team initiatives related to quality improvement and optimization of operational processes.
