This position is responsible for all administrative and operational functions. Plans and assigns duties to employees and organizes and directs the overall clinical and business operations of our growing 20- physician hospital based radiology practice which includes an independent outpatient imaging business and a women’s imaging practice.The Executive Director will keep the board advised and work collaboratively with the managing physician partner to coordinate all activities of the business. The successful candidate will possess the tact necessary to deal effectively with patients, third party payers, hospital administrators, physicians, and employees. This position requires a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve objectives. The Executive Director oversees the group’s marketing resources, IT, accounting and law firms and uses data driven decisions to enhance operational effectiveness, emphasizing high-quality patient care and cost containment. The position reports directly to the managing physician partner and the board of directors.
In collaboration with the managing physician partner, performs all duties necessary in the startup of a new 7500 square foot state of the art imaging center and delegates, as appropriate, after additional staff is hired. Establishes or maintains relationships with other medical groups to promote the services of the practice. Acts as the company liaison with our hospitals to improve quality and reduce costs. Maintains compliance with governmental regulations and industry requirements (HIPAA, MACRA, Value based reimbursement). Oversees the daily operations of the group practice. Supervises through the business office and clinical managers: administrative assistants, receptionists, billing company and technicians. Responsible for holding staff meetings to update staff on changes in the health regulatory and insurance environment. Monitors performance of practice personnel consistent with practice standards. Recruits, interviews, hires, manages employees. Responsible for revenue cycle management to ensure timely and accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and ensure accurate and compliant billing practices. This position directs the organization's financial planning as well as its relationship with lending institutions and oversees and directs budgeting and long-range forecasting and compares actual to projected budgets. Secures competitive bids for supplies and equipment when appropriate. In collaboration with the managing physician partner develops and implements the business plan along with the strategic marketing plans to attract potential customers and retain existing ones.
Education: Master's degree in health care administration, business administration, or health administration.
Experience: minimum seven years’ executive-level experience including five years of experience in the administration of a health care organization. Skill in organizing work, making assignments, and achieving goals and objectives. Ability to assume responsibility and exercise authority over assigned work functions. Participates in professional development activities to keep current with trends and practices in health care administration (maintains membership in professional organizations, attends conferences, keeps up with journals). Knowledge of the competitive managed care marketplace and the integrated healthcare delivery system in which the group operates. Ability to competently use technology including: Evernote, Trello, Microsoft Office and practice management software. Occasional evening and weekend work and some travel will be required.
