La Clinica de La Raza is seeking dynamic individuals to fill the roles of Integrated Behavioral Health Clinicians I/III (ASW or LCSW) at Hawthorne School Based Health Center, located in the Fruitvale neighborhood, and San Lorenzo School Based Health Center, located at San Lorenzo High Schoo.
The successful candidate will have proven experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment and experience working with school-aged children and adolescents. The ideal candidate will be strong advocates for youth health services, be committed to the principles of adolescent health, harm reduction and youth development, and have a demonstrated understanding of adolescent development and mandated reporting laws. Cultural agility is key in serving our culturally diverse population. We encourage men, People of Color and those that are bi-cultural to apply. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, but not required.
At the SBHC sites, our integrated core services are medical, mental health, clinical health education and community health education, with some sites offering dental services. All services are based in the tenets of health and wellness, social justice, and youth leadership. SBHC staff works as part of a team to provide seamless and coordinated care to young people. As a core member of the multidisciplinary SBHC team, the successful candidates will work closely with the Nurse Practitioner, Health Educator and school faculty and community partners to exchange referrals.
Screen and perform psychosocial/ psychiatric assessments, crisis intervention/stabilization, short term therapy, BH panel management and psycho-education for individuals, families, and groups, individualized treatment planning, goal setting, collateral services, progress monitoring, and care coordination Formulate a provisional DSM-IV TR 5-axis diagnosis which is reviewed and established under the license of the clinical supervisor Co-manage client care under the direction of a licensed supervisor Participate in program development to improve program quality and to expand BH services by providing input and recommendations Meet minimum encounter productivity goals on a monthly basis, and regularly review clinical interventions and case documentation with supervisor Have flexibility in meeting patients' needs Meet minimum encounter productivity goals on a monthly basis, and regularly review clinical interventions and case documentation with supervisor High degree of interpersonal competence with both staff and patients, and thorough knowledge of evidence based care Top-notch time management skills and evidence based approaches to medical care
*** Salary DOE *** This position is based on the Oakland Unified School District Calendar; this is a full time 10-month position, with the possibility to work part-time in the summer.
IBHC III must be licensed with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an LCSW (OR the Board of Psychology as licensed PhD/PsyD) IBHC I requires Master's in Social Work Cultural competence working in diverse/low income and immigrant communities
One and a half to Two + years of experience post MSW in a medical/social service setting providing counseling/therapy and crisis intervention services Two + years' experience working with youth through a community-based, school linked, or other social service capacity Well versed in mandated reporting laws, child development, family systems, stages of change, and co-occurring mental health and substance use/abuse conditions
