Providence is calling a Credentialing Specialist(Medical Staff Services, Days, Part time - .88 FTE) to Providence Holy Family Hospital in Spokane,Washington. In this position you will:
Support the Performance Improvement process.
Maintain current knowledge of recommendations from JCAHO and other state requirements with reference to the medical staff organization and credentialing/privileging process.
Serve as primary source of contact for the medical staff office to include answering office phone, responding to calls and visits from physicians or employees, opening and distributing mail.
Assist the Medical Staff Office Director in the development, implementation and maintenance of physician and allied health professional credentialing and recredentialing processes, creating and revising forms, as necessary.
Process practitioners under FPPE (Focused Professional Practice Evaluation) within appropriate time frames. Coordinate OPPE (Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation) on an ongoing basis.
Coordinate and maintain the process of obtaining current DEA, licensure, and malpractice insurance, and board certification verifications.
Assist with the organization of medical staff social functions, to include annual holiday brunch, Doctor's day, and physician retirement celebrations.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalency
Word processing skills
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Certification through the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS)
Experience in a Medical Staff office or comparable health care setting
