Great Life Counseling Center is offering a very unique group private practice opportunity to 2 gifted & highly motivated postdoctoral fellows! Great Life Counseling Center (GLCC) is a private counseling center based in Addison, TX, which provides a variety of psychological services and specializes in marriage/couples, child/family issues, faith and existential exploration, relational/emotional trauma, and individual adjustment or life transitions.
The selected candidates will be offered a 12 month 1099 contract position scheduled to start with a half day orientation on August 16, 2019. GLCC Postdoctoral Fellows may be offered an opportunity to stay with GLCC long term, if there are positions available following the initial contract year and their is a good culture fit with the team. Regardless, GLCC Postdoctoral Fellows will receive training on the business of private practice and they will be trained on how to successfully launch their own solo practice following the completion of their postdoctoral fellowship year. Early career psychologists are also welcome to apply and their training will include weekly business & clinical consultation meetings with Dr. Lambert for the first 6 months.

Responsibilities and Duties
The selected Postdoctoral Fellows must be self-starters who desire to learn how to build and maintain a full time private practice. The group's mission statement is 'to strengthen relationships and enhance lives for a healthier community.' In pursuit of this mission, the members of the group share a common interest in working with families, doing outreach/networking in the community, and collaborating with other members of the team. While psychotherapy is the primary modality of treatment, postdoctoral fellows are expected to have sufficient training to contribute a portion of their clinical hours to child & adult assessment work as well. Networking and public speaking are also important skills for growing business so solid skills or interest in growing in these areas is required.
Postdoctoral fellows are expected to demonstrate an eagerness to learn and contribute to the success of the group as a whole while independently attending to the details of growing their own practice (i.e., managing caseload, administrative duties/projects, and schedule for getting things done). Postdoctoral Fellows have a weekly target of 25 scheduled psychotherapy sessions per week plus at least two hours per week of marketing/networking. Postdoctoral Fellows may also be assigned up to 2 assessments per month and they are expected to attend & be prepared to participate in weekly consultation meetings with the group and their assigned supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants must have earned their doctorate degree in psychology from an APA accredited program and the degree must be conferred no later than Sept. 15th, 2019. Strong writing skills and a background in child and adult psychological assessment (cognitive, adaptive, LD/ADHD evals, career assessments, etc.) is required, as is the ability to learn quickly and integrate new information and techniques. Finally, adequate training and interest in specializing in couples and/or child-family psychotherapy is required.
Additional Salary Information: Monthly compensation varies based on a percentage of the total revenue collected by the clinician
