Cape Fear Valley Health System, located in Fayetteville, North Carolina, has retained Cejka Executive Search to recruit a business executive to serve as the Vice President, Surgical Services, who will be responsible for the strategic, financial and operational leadership and performance of Cape Fear Valley Health System’s Surgical Services enterprise.
A newly created role, the Vice President, Surgical Services is a highly visible service line leadership position within Cape Fear Valley Health System due to the volume, scope of responsibility, and complexity of patient care within the Surgical Services enterprise. As such, Cape Fear Valley Health’s leadership is seeking an experienced, progressive leader to provide the overall strategic leadership for Surgical Services by planning, directing, and organizing services, programs, and business development initiatives, including long-term strategic capital planning projects. The Vice President will hold responsibility for overall program management, development, and growth for inpatient and outpatient services.
The Vice President will partner with medical staff leadership to achieve optimal performance, physician and patient satisfaction, quality and safety measures and operational efficiency to achieve best-in-class Surgical Services program. Partnering with community providers and employed physicians, the Vice President will cultivate a collaborative, multidisciplinary care model to promote excellence in quality patient care provided in a cost-effective manner. This position is responsible for business development, cost management, and care management in a broad portfolio of services.
Located in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Cape Fear Valley Health System is the 7th largest health system in the state and serves more than a million patients. With eight hospitals totaling approximately 1,100-beds, Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, a 600-bed hospital, is the system’s flagship facility. With over 7,500 employees and 850 physicians, Cape Fear Valley Health System provides services to a 6-county region in southeastern North Carolina.
Ideal candidates will have progressive business management experience with responsibility for operational financial and clinical services of a high-volume Surgical Services department; multi-site management is preferred. A bachelor’s degree is required, and a master’s degree is highly preferred.
