Nemours is seeking a full time Clinical Research Nurse II - Surgery to join the Research team at Nemours Children’s Specialty Care in Jacksonville, Florida.
We are looking for a Registered Nurse with experience as a Clinical ResearchNurse, who is interested in in working in a Pediatric outpatient setting that offers a variety of research opportunities.
Clinical Research Nurses (CRN) are specialized nursing professionals who work with Principal Investigators (PI) to assist and support them with research projects from start to finish.
The CRN plays a critical role in the conduct and safety of research studies by facilitating and performing daily research activities while utilizing the nursing process to monitor, evaluate, and initiate appropriate clinical intervention, with the oversight of the Principal Investigator.
Clinical Research Nurses are involved in nearly every phase of the research process from study feasibility to assistance with manuscript preparation. This CRN role can encompass the following:
Assist with protocol development and grant proposals
Mentor and work with new principal investigators
Collaborate with the research team to determine if there are sufficient resources and eligible subjects for the research project, whether study timelines can be met, and evaluate the financial feasibility of the study
Organize and perform staff trainings, set up and maintain study files, prepare IRB submissions and attend investigator meetings
Screen and recruit eligible participants, schedule, prepare for and conduct research visits, gather data from patient and/or medical records, ensure study documents are complete and data are entered in a database in a timely manner, resolve data queries, ensure laboratory procedures are completed, order and stock study supplies, assist with monitoring visits, facilitate appropriate billing for research procedures and visits, and assist with or manage sponsor correspondence.
Assist investigators with summary reports and prepare study files for storage
Current Florida RN license
Current BLS certification through AHA
Minimum 1 year experience as Clinical Research Nurse
Current research certification or eligible to sit for examination
