Student Services Manager 5 (Senior Director of Student Affairs)
Penn State Harrisburg, a comprehensive college of The Pennsylvania State University, invites applications for an innovative, inspiring leader for the position of Senior Director of Student Affairs. The Senior Director of Student Affairs reports to the Chancellor and is defined as a senior member of the administration at Penn State Harrisburg. The Director will provide strategic direction, oversight and operational management for the College's Student Affairs programs, which includes student life, student engagement, residence life, career and development services, student health and wellness, counseling and student support services, inter-collegiate athletics (NCAA Division III, club sports and intramurals), international and multicultural affairs, diversity and inclusion programming, compliance management, new student orientation, and student clubs and organizations. The Director has responsibility to work in concert with other units in the development of co-curricular programming aimed at student engagement and holistic student development outside of the classroom for both commuter students as well as those living on campus. The position oversees multiple budgets totaling over $10,900,000 (includes wages, salaries, department allotment, Student Activity Fees, Student Facilities Fee, grants, Student Government Organization funds, etc.). Penn State Harrisburg has an enrollment of more than 5,000 resident instruction students, with up to 700 students living on campus. The College includes a broad, diverse, and non-traditional population and brings nationally accredited academic programs, award-winning faculty, and the resources of a world-class research university to Pennsylvania`s Capital Region. The College offers students the opportunity to earn baccalaureate degrees in 37 academic majors. As a graduate center, the College offers 27 master's degrees and 3 doctoral degree programs. Penn State Harrisburg is easily accessible via interstate and rail routes from Baltimore, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and New York. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher (Doctorate preferred) or higher plus eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must demonstrate a proven record of success in leading and managing multiple work units related to student success, excellent judgment and complex problem-solving skills, strong organizational and supervisory skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, an outstanding customer service orientation, and a commitment to fostering diverse and inclusive student experience.
