The UCSF Division of Pediatric Pulmonology, Cystic Fibrosis and Sleep Medicine is seeking two board certified/eligible Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine and/or Sleep Medicine faculty members at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level in the Department of Pediatrics. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in clinical care and/or research and acknowledged superior teaching skills. Candidates focusing on careers as physician-scientists or clinician educators will be equally considered.
The pulmonary division offers both inpatient and outpatient services and continuity care and has a comprehensive Cystic Fibrosis Center, a comprehensive sleep disorders program with an 8-bed capacity sleep lab, muscular disorders program, severe asthma program, state-of-the art Pulmonary Function and Exercise Laboratory, technology dependent program, aerodigestive program and general pulmonary clinics. Strong clinical demand and an expanding division will offer the new faculty member an exciting array of opportunities to participate in the growth and development of the division, currently staffed by 9 faculty, 2 nurse practitioners, a registered nurse, 5 respiratory therapists, 3 asthma educators, 2 social workers and 3 research coordinators.
Qualified candidates will possess a medical degree and license, Board certification in General Pediatrics, and Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine and/or Sleep Medicine. The candidate will be expected to provide ambulatory and inpatient care including bronchoscopies at Benioff Children’s Hospitals and multi-specialty outpatient clinics. Responsibilities include developing a strong clinical and teaching base for medical students, residents and fellows.
