Geisinger Health System is seeking two clinical psychologists to help guide the development and expansion of pain initiatives throughout its extensive network of hospitals and community practice sites. Geisinger is committed to comprehensive, interdisciplinary treatment of pain conditions and the prevention of Opioid misuse and dependence in individuals with chronic pain.
We seek individuals with professional experience or training in clinical health psychology/behavioral medicine with adult populations, ideally with some background in chronic pain. Join a team of enthusiastic psychologists working collaboratively with specialty and primary care providers in a high-quality, innovative academic healthcare system.
Individuals interested in leadership roles are also encouraged to apply, as applicants with significant experience in program development and evaluation in chronic pain or related specialties will be considered for the position of Chief of Pain Psychology.
Geisinger pain psychologists will serve in the following roles:
· Conduct pre-surgical evaluations for spine surgery and spinal cord stimulator implant candidates
· Provide evidence-based individual and group therapy to individuals referred for chronic pain and associated behavioral concerns
· Lead psychoeducational and behavioral intervention sessions as part of our new, comprehensive Pain Rehabilitation Program.
· Collaborate and coordinate care with medical teams across the health system
· Assist in additional clinical programs in Adult Psychology and Behavioral Medicine as time permits (e.g., Bariatric Surgery evaluations, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia)
· Offer supervision and training to psychology interns and postdoctoral residents, medical residents, and other learners within the health system
· Participate in program evaluation and data-driven quality improvement projects
· Opportunity for clinical faculty appointment within the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine
