Licensed Clinical Social Worker Job Purpose: The Licensed Clinical Social Worker is responsible for coordinating and implementing appropriate methods of treatment to patients in the behavioral health program.
DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Greets patients, introduces self, and escorts to office.
Verifies patient information, medical history, medications, and confirms purpose of visit.
Responsible for the content of education and counseling programs for patients.
Provides assessment, diagnosis and individual therapy treatment to patients of the behavioral health program.
Performs routine and crisis counseling/interventions, as well as suicide risk assessments as appropriate.
Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
Interviews patients and records information on patients' charts (Paper chart or EMR/EHR).
Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records.
Completes diagnostic and procedure coding as required/needed.
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Practices safe habits including but not limited to infection control, lifting procedures, etc.
Presents a professional image and customer focus
Practices teamwork by helping others willingly and communicating in a professional manner
Coordinates with clinical and other staff members in the provision of services to patients.
Provides referrals for services needed.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Operates standard office equipment
Adheres to Advanced Pain Care’s Policies and procedures
Has regular and predictable attendance
Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION Reports to Practice Administrator and works collaboratively with Behavioral Health Lead and Location managers to establish protocols and maintain program initiatives and integrity. Has indirect supervision from physicians and mid-level providers.
Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or an acceptable related field preferred; License as Clinical Social Worker required.
Experience: Minimum of one or more years preferred
Environmental Conditions: Medical Office environment
Must be able to work as scheduled
Requires travel between clinic locations
Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time
Must be able to bend, stoop and stretch
Must be able to lift and move boxes and other items weighing up to 30 pounds.
Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment, etc.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Clear and precise communication (written and oral)
Extensive knowledge of medical terminology
Effectively manages day by organizing and prioritizing
Applies tactful principles and practices of dealing with the public
Protects patient information and maintains confidentiality
Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or an acceptalbe related field preferred
License: License as a Clinical Social Worker
Experience: History of providing psychotherapy services; minimum of one year
