To provide leadership for the Department of Neurology’s clinical mission. The Vice Chair of Clinical Operations will collaborate with UTMB Health System Administration to manage both inpatient and outpatient clinical operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality health care in alignment with institutional priorities.
The Vice Chair of Clinical Operations must have a M.D. or D.O. degree and a current license to practice medicine in the State of Texas. The Vice Chair of Clinical Operations should be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor and will have demonstrated leadership capabilities within and academic environment and be able to work collaboratively and effectively with other clinical departments and administrative staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide medical leadership for physicians.
Provide coordination and support for medical directors.
Assure physician compliance with all UTMB policies and procedures.
Assure physician compliance with all state and federal regulations required.
Collaborate with medical directors to ensure the availability and adequacy of services.
Collaborate with nursing leadership and ancillary services to improve quality of care.
Ensure the highest quality of care and quality of service to patients.
Strive to provide patient care that is Safe, Timely, Effective, Equitable, and Patient-Centered.
Work to achieve organizational goals with respect to the clinical enterprise.
Monitor physician productivity and efficiency metrics.
Participate in strategic planning and business plan development.
Coordinate physician schedules accounting for vacations and absences.
Promote and facilitate referrals to the Faculty Group Practice and UTMB Health System.
Attend meetings as required.
