The Attending Physician is responsible for providing psychiatric services to patients on the Short Term Care Facility, Dual Diagnosis, Adult and Gero-psychiatric inpatient units as assigned by the Medical Director. The Attending Physician provides psychiatric services to other programs in the Behavioral Health Center when needed and participates in weekend call schedule.
Adheres to Attendance and Reliability Standards. Gives proper notification for absence or tardiness as per policy.
Conducts himself/herself in accordance with the ethical principles of the profession and with courtesy and respect towards patients, colleagues, and employees of the Behavioral Health Center.
Each individual accepting membership on the Medical Staff shall pledge that he/she will conduct his or her practice in accordance with the high ethical traditions and standards.
He/she will complete all necessary charting medical records and insurance requirements in a timely manner as requested for his/her patients; and this will be in conformity with the hospital bylaws.
He/she will direct and participate in team meetings and treatment planning.
He/she will maintain advance vacation schedule with the Medical Director.
He/she will perform the duties and job of the area served with responsibility and high ethical standards.
Knows, understands and abides by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules & Regulations and policies adopted by the Board of Trustees.
Maintains his/her physical and mental health such that he/she can properly fulfill his/her patient care responsibilities.
Maintains his/her professional qualifications through continuing medical education.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Medical Director.
Board certification in Psychiatry preferred
Current New Jersey State Medical License
Current CDS and DEA License
