Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led 500+ provider multispecialty group seeking an Internal Medicine trained Physician to join a team taking an innovative approach to helping complex, high-acuity patients.
Located on the campus of Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, the Extensivist Clinic - similar to a Complex Care or Discharge clinic - utilizes a team approach to care. Physicians, a pharmacist and case managers coordinate to provide individualized, tailored care to high utilizing patients, with a focus to decrease high cost utilization and readmissions. Seeing 4-8 patients a day (approx. 30 patients/wk.), with 2 hr. initial and 1 hr follow-up appointments, this team facilitates referrals, provides prescription medication education and other services.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of clinical Internal Medicine experience, love Internal Medicine, believe in what we're doing, and enjoy intellectually stimulating work while developing a relationship with patients! This position is ideal for Internists who love treating complex patients - often Hospitalists - but who are tired of working nights, holidays and weekends, and are wanting to work regular clinic hours.
Support Services Available: 24/7 CRNA Anesthesia; Level II Trauma Center; ED; Saint Alphonsus IM/Geriatrics/Palliative clinic on-site; community family medicine clinics; SAHS specialty physicians rotate in outreach, larger system resources.

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree;
Successful completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program;
Board certified, or obtain certification within 3 years of employment;
Obtain Idaho medical licensure to practice medicine in all its phases;
Valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Boards of Pharmacy & DEA.
