Swedish Health Services (SHS), the leading healthcare provider in the Pacific Northwest is seeking an innovative, collaborative and experienced physician leader as their next Family Medicine Program Director at the Swedish First Hill Campus. SHS is searching for a Program Director who will enhance the Swedish First Hill Campus Family Medicine Program with an unyielding commitment to medical education.
Swedish Health Services is renowned for its strong clinical reputation and is part of Providence St. Joseph Health. SHS comprises an integrated healthcare delivery network inclusive of tertiary/quaternary medical centers, a research institute, community hospitals, a large employed medical group, and an extensive network of ambulatory care services. The system is located in downtown Seattle and the surrounding suburbs, and serves Seattle's Puget Sound area and the Pacific Northwest region. The SHS Family Medicine Residency Program consists of 75 residents in total; 36 residents at Swedish Family Medicine-Cherry Hill, 33 residents at Swedish Family Medicine-First Hill and 6 residents at the Swedish Family Medicine-Rural Training Program (RTP).
The Swedish Family Medicine Residency at the First Hill Campus is a three-year training program that supports geriatric medicine, a high-risk obstetrics fellowship, as well as a behavioral health program. Residents match to one of three primary ambulatory care sites; Swedish Family Medicine First Hill, Swedish Family Medicine Ballard or Downtown Public Health, and complete inpatient rotations at Swedish First Hill, caring for newborns, pregnant women, children and adults.
The Swedish Family Medicine First Hill Clinic has over 15,000 patient visits annually and serves a patient population diverse in age, socioeconomic status and ethnicity. The First Hill Clinic provides a full spectrum of care to a diverse patient community within Seattle, including a large LGBTQI population, as well as Seattle's East African refugee population. In addition to traditional primary care, the clinic also offers numerous other specialty clinics that are staffed by residents with supervising core and volunteer faculty.
Reporting into the SHS Designated Institutional Official (DIO), the Family Medicine Program Director is responsible for the oversight and direct supervision of the Swedish First Hill Family Medicine Program. The Program Director is also responsible for any affiliated fellowships, as well as the collaboration with the Swedish Cherry Hill Family Medicine Program and any other SHS Graduate Medical Education programs. The Program Director must be a board certified Family Medicine physician with at least three years of educational and/or administrative experience. Fellowship training in Obstetrics with board certification is also highly desired.
