Provision of clinical and administrative supervision of social work staff and students working with adults who have severe and persistent mental illness and have been committed for treatment by a mental health board or through the courts. Performs Certified Master's level professional social work in determining client needs and providing complex therapeutic services; serves as a member on interdisciplinary teams to participate in treatment planning for assigned clients; service liaison to the community as clients needs warrant, provide psychosocial assessments, individual, family and group therapy; initiate and implement discharge planning; and manage a caseload. Communicate through written reports to Mental Health Boards, Courts, community and behavioral health region representatives as needed. Serve on hospital and inter-agency committees to facilitate provision of patient care.
Qualifications / Requirements
Master's degree in Social Work and three years Master Social Worker experience, including supervisory experience. Certification as a Master Social Worker by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is required in accordance with Neb. Rev. Stat. § 38-2128. Experience as a Master Social Worker providing individual, family and group therapy. Knowledge or experience making referrals to community based services as well as Medicare/Medicaid, SSI, SSDI, DD service application/processes. Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
