Peer Specialists deliver best practices of the peer support model over the telephone, other platforms to Veterans, performing a variety of therapeutic/supportive tasks assisting Veterans in achieving their goals for recovery/learning/practicing new skills, helping monitor their progress/assisting them in their treatment, modeling effective coping techniques/self-help strategies based on the their own recovery experience/supporting them in advocating for themselves to obtain effective services.
