| The Roseburg VA Healthcare System Home-Based Primary Care (HBPC) program provides comprehensive, interdisciplinary primary care services in the homes of veterans with complex and chronic, disabling disease. In addition to primary care interventions, HBPC provides palliative care, rehabilitation, disease management, and care coordination services. HBPC targets veterans in advanced stages of chronic disease, particularly those at high risk of recurrent hospitalization or nursing home placement. Salary range for this position reflects a Special Pay Rate for Psychologists. GS-11 ($74,167 - $96,422); GS-12 ($88,896 - $115,569); GS-13 ($105,708 - $137,422) We are looking for a compassionate, energetic individual ready to make a meaningful contribution to our nation's Veterans in our dynamic program in beautiful Roseburg, Oregon! The psychologist will be assigned to Geriatrics Rehabilitation & Extended Care under Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) at the RVAHCS. Clinical work with patients for this position involves driving to the patients' homes for face-to-face home visits. This position is a full-time work week that is a remotely working off-site from the RVAHCS; however, there is office space available for use. The psychologist will be expected to attend a weekly, on-site, interdisciplinary team meeting. The psychologist has the opportunity to work from home when completing documentation, phone calls, and case management. Knowledge of personal and other's safety, violence in the home, infection control, HIPPA, and use of technology such as laptop computers and cell phone are required. The psychologist will be provided with a government owned vehicle (GOV) to be used strictly for HBPC duties. In this environment, the psychologist will be a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team with responsibility for assessment, therapeutic intervention, case management training, education, and administration. The HBPC psychologist functions as the primary mental health provider of the HBPC team, providing assessment, treatment, management, and professional consultation services. GS-11 (Entry Level)At the GS 11 level, the following clinical activities are expected in the assignment: Ability to diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological and/or neuropsychological assessments Ability to treat mental disorders through a variety of modalities and provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders. Practice is under the close supervision of a licensed psychologist. GS-12 (Developmental Level)At the GS 12 level, the following clinical activities are expected in the assignment: Provides a full range of services including assessment and utilizes the most appropriate psychological techniques in providing quality care. Performs evaluations for wide array of patients representing diverse diagnostic entities. Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions. If unlicensed, the individual must be supervised by a licensed psychologist and the experience and supervision must meet the standards for psychology licensure. GS-13 (Full Performance Level). At the GS 13 level, the following clinical activities are expected in the assignment: Provides functional assessments and diagnostic services for Veterans with a range of psychopathology who are receiving care within the VA Roseburg HCS within HBPC. Demonstrates expertise in using contemporary interview and psychometric assessment methods for mental disorders and/or behavioral health conditions. Provides education to patients and family members regarding mental disorders and best practice approaches to treatment. Provides evidenced-based psychotherapeutic interventions as indicated and appropriate for the specific job setting and duties of the psychologist, which may include individual, family, and group psychotherapy and psychoeducation. Provides consultation to health care providers throughout the Medical Center about assessment findings and treatment plans for patients to ensure that care is coordinated, collaborative, and integrated within the VA Roseburg HCS. Develops, implements, and documents the mental health treatment plan for patients presenting in primary care, as indicated and appropriate for the specific job setting and duties of the psychologist. Adheres to all Facility and Service Line policies and practices for delivering clinical care, including but not limited to risk assessment and reduction practices for potentially dangerous behavior (suicide and violence), timeliness of care and access standard, professional conduct requirements, and CPRS documentation convention s. Achieves clinical workload expectations as established by the Service Line. Provides supervision of trainees conducting direct clinical care. At the GS-13 level, psychologists are fully licensed and function independently as a member of the RVAHCS Medical Staff with full clinical privileges. Psychologists at this grade additionally assume independent professional responsibility for their clinical assessment findings, patient care decisions, and documentation. Work Schedule: M-F 8:00am-4:30pm work week or for patient care needs. Travel will be required.
