The Battle Creek VA Medical Center is recruiting for an Nursing Assistant (Nursing Mental Health). The Nursing Assistant (Nursing Mental Health) will function in Nursing Mental Health Service. The Nursing Assistant (Nursing Mental Health) functions as a member of the health care team and provides skilled direct care to adult patients/residents. These patients/residents typically present with complex medical and psychiatric conditions and related functional and cognitive deficits. The deficits require that the patients/residents receive from partial to maximal assistance with activities of daily living. The incumbent applies basic scientific principles of nursing and advanced skills to meet each patient's/resident's unique physical and psychological needs. The employee must be sensitive to the cultural diversity of the patients/residents, family, and other members of the health care team. The employee assigned to this position is an active participant of the nursing team demonstrating a high level of clinical practice with minimal supervision. You will be assigned in the areas of the Medical Center as needed, provided competency is established. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, with weekend rotation; 7pm - 7:30am Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
