The incumbent will be assigned to the Mental Health Service at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System. Staff psychologists diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological and/or neuropsychological assessments, treat mental disorders through a variety of modalities and provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders. Qualified applicants will be considered and referred on a rotating basis until a selection is made or until 09/30/2021. Duties include but are not limited to: 1. Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services including assessment and using the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care. 2. Performs evaluations for Veterans in our general mental health clinic. 3. Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions including a commitment to use evidence-based psychotherapies for a wide range of mental health disorders delivered via group and individual psychotherapy modalities, face to face and via telemedicine equipment. 4. Consults with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues. 5. Assumes complete professional responsibility for his/her clinical assessment findings, patient care decisions, and documentation. 6. Is responsible for timely completion of all clinical charting and documentation required by the Medical Center or healthcare system, as appropriate. 7.
