| VISN 8's Clinical Resource Hub (CRH) is currently recruiting for a Suicide Prevention Coordinator to join the Suicide Prevention Program (SPP) team at the Network level. This is a multi-discipline announcement and one selection will made from the following: Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, or Psychologist disciplines. The VISN 8's Clinical Resource Hub is currently recruiting for a Suicide Prevention Coordinator. The incumbent will provide evidence-based suicide prevention psychotherapies and interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Suicide Prevention, Advanced Safety Planning, Problem Solving Therapy for Suicide Prevention, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Maintains high level of skill and expertise to establish and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with Veterans and their families. Independently works with Veterans and their families who are experiencing a wide range of complicated medical, psychiatric, emotional, behavioral, and psychosocial problems within the context of suicide risk. Completes a current psychosocial assessment to determine the psychosocial functioning and needs of Veterans, after thorough review of the medical record. The incumbent must be able to utilize this assessment and the VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guideline for Assessment and Management of Patients at Risk for Suicide (2019) in facilitating the Veteran's maximum use of treatment for attainment of the highest level of recovery that is possible and practicable. Completes all reporting requirements set forth by SPP and CRH to include, but not limited to: Measurement-Based Care monitoring Program evaluation Quality management Fidelity, efficacy, and outcomes measures Training required for the position and delivery of care Utilization of tools and resources related to reporting and evaluation (i.e., dashboards, measures, note templates with health factors, etc.) Participates as a member of a Suicide Prevention National Telehealth Program treatment team and engages in active collaboration with Veterans and family as well as other interdisciplinary treatment team members, including but not limited to Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, Psychologists, Social Workers, RNs, Peer Support Specialists and Administrative Support staff, in the development and implementation of a treatment plan. Possesses knowledge of current literature and experience in use of mental health and substance abuse diagnoses and treatment procedures, including acute, chronic and traumatic illnesses, as well as in suicide risk assessment and intervention. Facilitates enrollment and discharge planning through collaboration with Veterans and their families as well as interdisciplinary treatment team members to ensure that appropriate plans are executed in a timely manner. Also, incumbent will address treatment compliance and "no-shows" when needed with patients. Serves as a liaison between Veterans and their families and VA and community resources in order to ensure thorough delivery of suicide prevention-related services. Possesses knowledge and ability to independently implement treatment modalities and to provide counseling and/or skills groups for Veterans and families. This will be achieved through future completion of training program curriculums and demonstration of competency, as determined by standard, programmatic ratings. Provides consultation and education to Veterans and their families regarding community resources, VA benefits, specialty programs, and advance directives. This includes the incumbent's knowledge of the process for accessing and/or coordinating community-based services, including information and referral for additional services from other VA programs, other government programs, and community programs. Provides consultation to other treatment team and staff members regarding psychosocial needs of Veterans and their families particularly related to suicide risk and the impact of the identified psychosocial problems on the Veteran's health care planning, compliance with treatment, and discharge planning. Must possess and demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with people from diverse backgrounds. Must provide emergency/crisis intervention services to patients experiencing acute psychological crises by helping to stabilize these individuals, providing evidence-based suicide prevention psychotherapies, assisting in referral arrangements for transfer to a psychiatric facility for inpatient care (taking into account locality demands), if necessary, and providing follow up care as needed, all occurring within the context of active treatment with you as the provider. Responsible for supporting the mission, policies, and procedures of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), the appropriate Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN), and the facility. Serves on committees and work groups, as deemed appropriate by the supervisor, and attends all required meetings. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, with variable tours, as needed and/or assigned (examples: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.) *US EASTERN TIME ZONE Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
