UT Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is seeking an outstanding Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to be a Psychiatric Leader for an innovative initiative to increase integrated pediatric behavioral health across North Texas. This Psychiatrist will work with Children’s Health System of Texas’s Network Development and Innovation team and the Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at UT Southwestern. This position will be responsible for psychiatric/medical leadership for network behavioral health activities working closely with the vice president of behavioral health and network innovation team. This is anticipated to include:
Meeting with potential network behavioral health affiliates and building relationships with behavioral health community groups
Development and design of performance standards and clinical policies and procedures
Providing educational seminars, training and co-facilitation of case rounds within the behavioral health programs
Serving as a pediatric behavioral health medical expert for community facing activities such as community meetings and school speaking engagements.
Acting as a champion for Pediatric Tele-Specialty with Children’s Health Care Network facilities
Collaborating with vice president of behavioral health and other organization medical directors in research activities including publications and speaking engagements to further and the advancement of the integrated consultative model.
Clinical responsibilities will include up to three days per week serving primarily as a psychiatric consultant in a collaborative care model with pediatricians/primary care physicians in the Children’s Health Care Network while also providing some direct patient care virtually or in an outpatient clinic working to stabilize patients to return to their primary care physician for ongoing follow up.
The ideal candidate’s background would include experience with integrated behavioral health programs, incorporating behavioral health into population health, collaborative care models, psychiatric assessment and treatment of children and adolescents, including the treatment of medical patients with cognitive, behavioral, and emotional needs, medical management. Applicant must have or be able to obtain a Texas medical license and be board certified or board eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience
