Director Case Management RN FT Days Position Summary
Department administrator responsible to direct and supervise staff work flow and productivity to achieve key department process and outcome indicators. Position has budgetary and fiscal accountability to assure the hospital clinical resources are utilized in the most cost effective manner, while improving quality outcomes. Position provides the strategic plan and execution strategy to achieve this purpose while creating a positive and productive working environment in concert with medical and hospital staff. Works closely with the hospital CFO, CMO and Hospitalist physicians to achieve outcomes. Position responsible to coordinate with leaders and peers across the market to develop and implement standardized processes where indicated. Position is responsible for approving timekeeping, completing employee evaluations per policy, meeting applicable regulatory standards, and approving supply orders.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians and hospital administrative team. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment to achieve projects with deadlines. Must be able to utilize independent decision-making and critical thinking skills in a wide variety of situations. Requires a high degree of accuracy in the performance of varied responsibilities. Personal computer skills required and Careport/Allscripts skills preferred. Frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals and volunteers. Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines. Case management and utilization review principles. Knowledge of Managed care trends, Medicare and Medicaid (AHCCCS) regulations. Working knowledge of Arizona Nurse Practice Act, ANA RN Scope of Practice, CMS Conditions of Participation, JCAHO Standards and EMTALA.
SUPERVISES: Nurse Case Managers, Social Workers, Discharge Coordinators and support staff. Partners with Centralized Utilization Review team to promote effective utilization of hospital resources and timely and accurate revenue cycle processes for denial prevention.
Qualifications:THE DIRECTOR CASE MANAGEMENT RN FT DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelors of Science in Nursing or related field and Nursing Degree from an Accredited Nursing School or Masters prepared Social Worker.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Masters Nursing, Masters Health Administration or MBA
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Three years of acute care hospital case management, discharge planning and utilization management experience at a Director level with five years of acute care hospital case management experience required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Five years of recent management in acute care hospital case management setting preferred
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Current Arizona Registered Nurse License or, MSW with State of Arizona licensed Social Worker.
REQUIRED COURSE(S) TRAINING: Must successfully complete Careport/Allscripts, Cerner and InterQual training within 90 days
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: Accredited Case Manager (ACM) or Certified Case Manager (CCM)
