Shift: Full Time, Day Shift. Four 10-hour shifts plus call. 7:00 am - 5:30 pm.

The role you’ll contribute:
The PACU Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for coordinating the efforts of the multidisciplinary treatment team for the patients under his/her care. The RN is accountable for administering, supervising, coordinating, and evaluating the nursing process in the provision of care; and will strive to maintain and improve patient outcomes.
S/he is accountable for working within the parameters of the Florida Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards, established policies, protocols and procedures; and utilizes other pertinent references as guidelines for clinical practice. S/he critically evaluates evidence for application to clinical practice in his / her area of practice.

Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
Documents patients’ progress in the medical record on a regular basis including assessment and management plans.
Protect the health of patients, families, and employees by adhering to all infection-control policies.
Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain.
Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
Demonstrates knowledge of anesthesia blocks, arterial lines, and central lines, and epidural catheters and how to document appropriately.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing
Minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a PACU or critical care setting
Current Florida state Registered Nurse licensure
Current American Heart Association BLS certification
BSN or higher preferred
2 or more years critical care/PACU hospital experience preferred
Current or completion of NIHSS stroke certification within thirty days
Current American Heart Association ACLS certification within 90 days of hire
Current American Heart Association PALS certification within 90 days of hire
