The Recovery Center is located at 14016 South "A" St Parkland, WA 98444. The RC operates 24 hours a day, seven days per week on a year-round basis to provided recovery oriented, trauma-informed treatment for individuals in our community through a highly intensive program which involves the individual, family and significant others in the treatment and discharge planning process. Job DescriptionThe Psychiatric Registered Nurse is responsible for the well-being and nursing care of all residents assigned to them during their shift. He or she provides psychiatric and general nursing services following the patient's treatment plan, assesses patients and responds to and reports any changes in condition, distributes and charts medications, and responds to emergencies. You will work side by side with well experienced/veteran nurses as well as Mental Health Professionals, Peer Counselor, Mental Health Technicians and ARNPs. The ideal candidate has BSN, holds a current unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse, and has at least one year of experience, preferably working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness. Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric setting strongly preferred. Effective oral and written skills, empathy and the ability to listen, good time management and computer skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position. Responsibilities
Provides nursing care following established nursing service objectives and standards
Ensures that all safety and infection control practices are followed
Distributes and documents medications (including narcotics) according to established standards and regulations
Responds to emergency situations
Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
Communicates with patients and families regarding treatment and care Qualifications
BSN minimum required OR or an active RN License with a signed agreement to complete the BSN within 3 years.
Current WA state license as a Registered Nurse
One year of experience required, preferably working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness
Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric setting strongly preferred
Knowledge of major mental illnesses and common psychotropic medications
Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
