This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more Providing Veterans and fellow team members with psychological consultation to support Veteran improvement in quality of life and sustainment of lifestyle changes. Providing comprehensive, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual, family, and group psychotherapy. Developing, implementing, and documenting the psychotherapeutic treatment plan for an assigned caseload of patients, including prompt completion of clinical reminders. Functioning independently as a member of the Northern Indiana VA Health Care System medical staff, with full clinical privileges. Assuming complete professional responsibility for his/her clinical assessment findings, patient care decisions, and documentation. Completing clinical charting and documentation required by the Medical Center or healthcare system, as appropriate. Provides clinical supervision to Psychology practicum students, predoctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows for training in psychological assessment, consultation, treatment and research. Provides leadership guidance and consultation to staffs of units to which assigned. Conducts seminars, case conferences or other educational meetings in his or her areas of expertise. May develop hypotheses and research designs and takes responsibility for the preparation and implementation of his or her research program. Serves as a consultant to other staff members on their research projects and may collaborate in carrying out interdisciplinary research. Attends professional conferences and reads professional publications to keep abreast of current research. Presents his or her own findings or theories at professional conferences and/or in professional publications. May serve on Medical Center, VISN, and/or National VA committees or taskforces at the Chief of Mental Health's request. Performs all other duties assigned by the Chief of Mental Health Service or supervisory psychologist/designee, even though they may not be outlined above, as long as he or she can do so without violating ethical standards. At the GS-13 level, you would be performing the above duties and responsibilities as an independent licensed provider. At the GS-11 and GS-12 levels, psychologists function under the supervision of a licensed psychologist unless independently licensed and credentialed and privileged by the Medical Center.
